Folio Opal 3C
At 136 East 56th Street in the heart of Manhattan, light redefines the standards of urban hospitality, transforming the entrance into a bright and distinctive landmark. The heart of the project is the large backlit surface of the external canopy, created using a custom solution based on the Folio Opal 3C system.
The installation consists of a grid of large-format light panels that generate a volume of pure, zenithal light. Thanks to Opal 3C technology, characterized by extremely high diffuser uniformity and optimized structural depth, the canopy emits perfectly homogeneous light, free of shadows or visible discontinuities. This “luminous cloud” not only ensures maximum safety and visual comfort in the entrance area, but also acts as an architectural element that expands the perception of space below the street front.
The rigorous design and clean lines of the Folio system blend harmoniously with the classic lines of the building, creating a contemporary contrast that enhances the stone materials of the façade. The light from the Folio Opal 3C thus becomes a tool for visual communication: a clear and effective sign that identifies the building in the urban fabric of New York at night, giving it an elegant, confident identity with a strong architectural impact.
